Our vision is to create a positive difference in the world by providing pure, all natural, handmade products to all. Life is all about balance. The balance between work and relaxation is one of life’s most precious undertakings. With so many responsibilities and what may feel like simply not enough time in a day, we know it can be difficult to take a break and relax. That is where we come in. Our mission is to give you the intermission you deserve in a healthy, natural way by using the earth to give you “only the good stuff”.
Our Story
Owner and founder, Jessica created Intermission with intent of opening a beauty salon. Her vision was the same then as it is now, to give people the opportunity to take a step back from their busy lives and provide them with a well deserved “beauty break”. The lease was signed and her business plan was in place. Nothing could go wrong. Only a global pandemic could stop her n- …oh, crap.
Although she wasn’t aware at the time, the universe was preparing Jessica for a whole new adventure. The next three years proved to be full of obstacles, as she faced multiple health issues and was forced to take a step back from hair and the harsh chemicals that came with it. She started to replace her normal health and beauty products with more organic choices, and eventually started to develop her own products. Jessica was compelled to help other people in similar situations and became determined to expand her variety of all natural products. She rebuilt her business plan and participated in her first Farmers Market in June of 2022, where she received an immense amount of support and interest. Although her original execution was modified, the mission of Intermission persevered and is now flourishing as an all natural apothecary business.
Graphic Designer and loving wife of Jessica, Megan has stood by her wife’s side since the birth of Intermission. Meg worked diligently behind the scenes to provide Jessica with all the marketing tools she would need for a successful business. From logos to business cards to company websites, Jessica knew she had the support of her partner. When Jessica was faced with health issues, Meg was a first hand witness to the benefits of her all natural products. Since then, Meg has stepped up from behind the scenes and to the forefront of the company, because she not only believes in her wife, but strongly believes in the products she is selling and the vision of Intermission.
